We are a family-owned shop. We have customized four wheel drive vehicles for 10 years. Our owner, John, has worked on 4x4s for more than 35 years across Utah, California, and Idaho. That experience makes the difference between a rig that looks good and a rig that performs when you need it. Our experienced mechanics bring it to every build and every repair.

Every build starts with your vehicle and how you use it, so you will not get a one size fits all package. After all, every person that walks into our shop wants something different. Some want a comfortable rig for the mountains. Some want a trail rig for the Owyhees and the backcountry. Others need a truck for daily driving and the occasional trip into the hills.

The Treasure Valley drives a mix of vehicles. John has worked on 4x4s for decades. Jeep JK, JL and JT. Toyota Tacoma and 4Runner. Ford Bronco and F150. Chevy and GMC trucks. If it has four wheel drive and it gives you trouble, we have probably worked on one just like it.

Knowing the platform matters. A regear on a Tacoma is not the same job as a regear on a Wrangler. Lift kits fit specific makes, models and years, so the work comes down to the install and the setup.

A lift is one of the most common upgrades we do. We build your suspension around how you use your rig, whether you drive daily, tow or head deep into the trails. You can choose anything from a basic leveling kit to a full suspension system. We help you pick the right setup and install it properly. The result is a vehicle that drives better and sits higher.

Upgrades / Modifications

Once the foundation is right, upgrades make your rig capable and make it yours. John’s decades of experience tell us what holds up out here and what does not, so we carry and install trusted brands and make sure the parts you choose fit your needs and your budget.

Working on a DIY project? We supply the parts, help you get the right ones and handle any warranty issues on parts you order through us.

Here are some of the upgrade categories we cover:

Bumpers. Front and rear protection that takes a hit and keeps you moving.
Body Armor. Rock sliders, skid plates and armor protect the parts that matter most when the trail gets tight.
Lighting. Ditch lights, light bars, rock lights and full auxiliary setups. We wire them clean so they last on the road and off it.
Tires/Wheels. The right tire and wheel combination changes your rig's performance more than almost any other single upgrade.
Winches/Recovery Gear. A solid winch and the right recovery gear keep a sketchy situation from becoming a bad day.
Regearing. After a tire size increase, regearing puts your engine back in its happy range. You feel it in how the rig pulls and how it uses fuel.
Lockers. Locking differentials are for off road use only. On the trail they give you traction for rock crawling and loose terrain.
Brakes. Bigger tires and a heavier build need better braking. Safety comes first, so we make sure you can stop.
Air Intake & Exhaust Systems. These upgrades wake your engine up. You feel the difference right away.
Extended Range Fuel Tanks. Carry more fuel for longer runs into the backcountry where the next fill up is far away.
Roof Racks/Bed Racks. Carry your gear securely on a weekend trip or a full expedition.

Some jobs do not fit a category, and that is where our fabrication background helps. This work keeps your rig running right long after the build.

Here are the custom services we offer, from accessories and repairs to custom fabrication and a trail ready check:

Accessories. We install them right the first time, from small additions to full accessory packages.
Repairs. Strange noises, death wobble and worn parts. We look at the full system, find the real cause and fix it right. Your rig stays safe and ready.
Custom Fabrication. When nothing off the shelf fits your build, our fabrication experience fills the gap.
Trail Ready Check. We go over your rig before your trip so you know it is ready for the Owyhees or wherever else you head.

"Do you do lift kits?"

Yes, and we do them right. We build your suspension around how you use your rig, whether you drive daily, tow or head deep into the trails. You can choose anything from a basic leveling kit to a full suspension system. We help you pick the right setup and install it the right way.

"I have a lift on my truck and it rides terribly."

Bring it in and we will look at your setup. Several things can cause a rough ride. Worn parts are often the answer. You get an honest assessment and clear recommendations.

"Can you remove the lift kit on my truck?"

Sometimes. It depends on what is on your truck. Lift kits vary a lot, and some need more than unbolting parts to return to stock. We need to see your vehicle to know which parts were installed and what it takes to remove them safely. Some Chevy trucks with lifts over four inches cannot return to a factory setup without major added parts.

“I am hearing a strange noise. Can you figure out what it is and repair it?”

Yes, we handle this all the time. Strange noises come from many places, especially on modified or off road vehicles.

First we figure out what you hear and when. Does it happen under acceleration, braking, turning or over bumps? Then we walk you through the issue and your repair options before we touch anything.

"Can you repair death wobble?"

Yes. One part rarely causes death wobble. It usually comes from a combination of worn or loose parts in the front end, and replacing a single part rarely fixes it for good. We check the full system, find the root cause and fix it. If your rig has death wobble, bring it in now. It will not fix itself, and it gets unsafe fast.

"Do you install customer supplied parts?"

Yes, but the parts must be correct, complete and described accurately when they arrive. If they are not, we charge clocked time for troubleshooting, modifying, searching for the right parts or fixing fitment issues.

We do not control where customer parts come from, so the purchaser handles warranty and replacement on them. We prefer to supply the parts for your build. It supports our small business. Our pricing is competitive. It also ensures we have the right parts before the job starts.

"Do you install lights?"

Yes, and more. Ditch lights, light bars, rock lights, camp lighting or full auxiliary setups. We build clean, reliable wiring that holds up on the road and on the trail. Our wiring work includes switch panels and custom switch setups, relay and fuse integration, clean routing with protection from heat, abrasion and moisture, wiring repairs and electrical troubleshooting for flickering, shorts or accessories that stopped working.
